If we were pushed to say three things that could make summer for us, we’d probably say, oh, something like: music, the great outdoors, and a lovely beer or a glass of wine. While summer can be more than those things, if you have those three in your life, then you’re doing something right. And good news for the people who are visiting Victoria during the later parts of summer, during late August and early September: all three will be well represented! Check out all the details below, and begin looking forward to your trip.

Boats on the shore

If an event has been running for some forty years, and attracts around 10,000 visitors, then you know it’s doing something right. From August 30 - September 1, you’ll be able to catch a feast for the eyes during the Classic Boats Festival. Head down with the family, and don’t forget to take a camera -- you’ll have never seen the harbour like this before.

For the blues music fans

The Vancouver Island Blues Bash is now in its 26th year, and promises to be just as good as ever, Taking place August 31 - September 2, it’ll be taking place at the outdoor stage at Ship Point, and at Hermann’s Upstairs. Some events are free, too. Head down and check it out!

Beer festivals

It’ll be a tasty and refreshing weekend at Royal Athletic Park on September 6 and 7, when the Great Canadian Beer Festival will take place. Head down and enjoy the finest beers in the outdoors.
