The holidays are fast approaching here in Victoria, and we couldn’t be more excited! There are plenty of festive events taking place all over the city this Christmas season, from a gingerbread house showcase to the annual Christmas at The Butchart Gardens events. Check out a list of the top three can’t-miss holiday events happening in Victoria this year.
Habitat for Humanity Victoria returns with their annual Gingerbread Showcase! 2021 marks the 13th year of this family-friendly event, where guests will marvel at impressive gingerbread creations made by professional and amateur bakers around Victoria. The theme for this year’s Gingerbread Showcase is none other than The Future of Home. Gingerbread houses will be on display from November 20th until January 2nd at The Parkside Hotel & Spa, The Chateau Victoria, The Marriott Inner Harbour, and The Doubletree.
Christmas at The Butchart Gardens is an event like no other. One of Victoria’s biggest attractions is back with their annual holiday-themed event, which sees the garden illuminated by tens of thousands of glittering lights. Kicking off November 26th and lasting until January 2nd, Christmas at The Butchart Gardens welcomes guests of all ages. Beyond gorgeous light displays, the event will feature live carollers, a brass band, and a cafe stocked with hot chocolate.
Whatever you do this holiday season, don’t miss the annual Festival of Trees at the Bay Centre. Taking up residence in this downtown Victoria mall from November 17th until January 4th, the Festival of Trees features an aisle of beautifully-decorated Christmas trees for all to behold. This local event is free of charge and all proceeds are being donated to mental health programs at the BC Children’s Hospital.
