Now that it’s May, farmers’ markets all over Victoria have officially reopened. And we don’t know about you, but adding “strolling through a farmers’ market” to our Saturday morning routine sounds pretty great to us. From locally-grown produce to homemade bread and jams, check out this list of the best farmers’ markets in Victoria.
The Goldstream Farmers Market is back as of May 9, 2021. Set up in Veterans Memorial Park in Langford, this Victoria market will encourage you to shop local like never before. On Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm until October, the Goldstream Farmers Market has everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to skincare, jewellery, artwork, jerky, and freshly baked cookies!
The Esquimalt Farmers Market is back for 2021. This Victoria farmers’ market, which only opened in 2014, takes up residence in Memorial Park every Thursday night from now until October. Vendors will be set up in the park from 4:30 pm until 7:30 pm, and there are even designated picnic areas for market-goers to enjoy their dinner. The Esquimalt Farmers Market has everything from candles and tea to jewellery and produce, so there really is something for everyone.
The Moss Street Market’s summer season has begun! Although this is a year-round market, its hours and vendors grow during the summer months. This market takes over Brooke Street Park and the Sir James Douglas School grounds every Saturday from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. There is a mix of food and craft items here, with vendors ranging from Salt Spring Wild Cider and Jenny Marie’s Cracker Co. to Northstar Organics and Haus Sausage Co. There is even an online order pick up tent located near the school parking lot.
