Butchart Gardens is in full bloom now that spring has arrived. That means that there’s no better time to visit! Avoid the crowds and enjoy this COVID-friendly activity with your friends and family members. Butchart Gardens is known for being home to over 900 different varieties of plants. It also features a Japanese Garden, a Rose Garden, a Mediterranean Garden, and the magnificent Sunken Garden. Tickets are currently available on-site only and range from $2.00 to $27.00.
Fisherman’s Wharf is one of the most popular (not to mention Instagrammable) spots in downtown Victoria. The colourful homes, waterfront location, and delicious eateries make it a beloved spot amongst tourists and locals alike. One of the best places to eat in Fisherman’s Wharf is Barb’s Fish & Chips. Barb’s has reopened for the summer season and they are serving up their signature fish and chips (both halibut and sockeye salmon are available) all month long.
Now that the BC provincial government is allowing small outdoor gatherings, there’s no better way to reunite with your friends and loved ones than at a picnic. Saanich Gorge Park, Beacon Hill Park, and Saxe Point in Esquimalt are all great spots for a picnic. However, our personal favourite is Clover Point Park, which is simply magical at sunset. Clover Point is an oceanfront park known for its panoramic views. Bring a towel or picnic blanket and eat on the sandy beach, or drive into the parking lot and enjoy an oceanview picnic from the comfort of your car.
