Cheers to the start of a new season this fall! Victoria has lots of great events happening in September and October that feature awesome drinks and are a great way to spend a day or evening with friends. If you’re over 19 years of age, check out these awesome events below (and be sure to drink responsibly):


Victoria International Wine Festival | September 19

Calling all wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs! The Victoria International Wine Festival is back this September to celebrate great wines from around the world. This year, there will be over 300 presenting wines from over 11 different countries. You don’t need to be a wine snob to attend this event - the aim is to simultaneously educate everyday wine consumers while also showcasing new wines to the pros. Tickets start at just $40 for those who want to attend one seminar of their choice and go up to $200 for a “super pass,” which includes access to all tastings plus entry to two seminars. A tasting room pass is $85. Please note that this event is restricted to those ages 19 and up.
 

Sea Cider Apple Day | September 29

On September 29th from 11 am to 4 pm, head up to Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse for a family-friendly day at the orchard. This is a great event for those who want to check out a local cider brewery while bringing the kids along. At this free public event, you’ll get to explore the apple orchard while it’s in full harvest and learn all about how cider is made. There will be live music, a scavenger hunt for kids, as well as activities like bobbing for apples and apple decorating. Adults can sample fresh apple cider and those of legal drinking age will be offered a complimentary sparkling cider cocktail upon arrival. You can also purchase additional cider and food at the event. Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse is located just a 25-minute drive away from Best Western Plus Carlton Plaza Hotel!
 

Art of the Cocktail | October 19

Presented by the Victoria Film Festival, the Art of the Cocktail calls itself “the biggest cocktail party on the island!”. This one-day event will have 40 exhibitors serving over 60 spirits and over 900 expected attendees. This event is for anyone 19 and up who loves a great cocktail and will feature tastings, masterclasses, and other fun cocktail-centric activities. There will also be complimentary appetizers available to pair with your drink, courtesy of great local chefs. Tickets are $70, or $95 for a VIP pass.
