April things to do in Victoria: art, science, comedy, and boats

Visiting Victoria during April? Then you better prepare yourself, because the city will be hosting a series of diverse events this month. Whatever your interests are, they might just be catered for in Victoria. We have community art shows, special science afternoons, comedy performances, and a boat show all taking place.

Local art

Take a trip over to the The Bay Centre and you’ll be treated to three exhibitions by local artists as part of the 18th Annual Look Show. This is one of the highlights of the Victoria art calendar, and will features work of art in a range of styles and mediums.

Science for the family

Curious about, well, anything and everything? Then the Science at the Symphony event might just be up your alley. You’ll be guided through an afternoon of fun science experiments by your Quirks & Quarks host Bob McDonald, who’ll be teaching you, among other things, how you can make music with rubber bands and soda bottles! Takes place April 2 at the Royal Theatre.

Improv comedy

If you’ve never been to the Paper Street Theatre Improv Festival before, then you’ve been missing out. Make sure you make it there this year if you want to laugh! It’ll be taking place at the Intrepid Theatre from April 25 - 29.
 

Boat show

Before you start packing, let’s just say this: you don’t have to be thinking about buying a boat to attend a boat show. At the Victoria Inner Harbour Boat Show, which is taking place from April 27 - 30, you can simply take in all the great boats on display!
