It’s not difficult to have fun during the summer months when you’re visiting Victoria. There’s all the usual attractions to enjoy, and then there’s the whole matter of the local outdoor scene, which is pretty darn beautiful. But what makes the city so enjoyable during the summer season is all the events that take place. Just take a look at what we’ve got coming up at the end of July and early August. Food, classical music, and a special display out on the water, to name but three. Check out the details below!

Beautiful music, beautiful venue

It’s always a treat to see the Victoria Symphony Orchestra, but it’s even more special when it’s a free concert in the beautiful Downtown Inner Harbour. Tens of thousands of tourists and locals alike will come together to experience the special show on August 4, which will feature performances of a few favourites and end with a magical firework display.

Out on the water

The ever popular Victoria Dragon Boat Festival will take place down at Inner Harbour from August 9 - 11. You can register to be a paddler on the dragon boat, or simply do as most of us do, which is simply head down to watch. It’s a spectacular sight that you won’t want to miss.

Good life at the beach

We’ll all be living well on July 20, when the Eats and Beats at the Beach festival will take place. It’s all about good beer, delicious food, and live music. What more can we say?

After all that fun, make sure you’re returning to spend a night at the Best Western Plus Carlton Plaza Hotel, the best hotel in Victoria. During your stay, you’ll be treated to well-appointed, comfortable accommodations, all of which are equipped with state of the amenities, including a television, free wifi, and a drip coffee maker.
